If you’re not familiar with Toronto ambient-pop outfit Ingredient, today is your lucky day. On Monday, the duo consisting of Ian Daniel Kehoe and Luka Kuplowsky dropped Photo, the first single from their upcoming self-titled debut album.
The new record was assembled by Kehoe and Kuplowsky over the course of six months in a home studio they frequented daily. Amidst synthesizers and drum machines they composed, re-composed, and workshopped a wide array of music, ultimately focusing on a set of eight songs that lived in a shared musical and philosophical world.
