It’s no secret we’re big fans of Toronto First Nations “moccasin-gaze” artist Zoon. Over the last couple of years, Daniel Monkman has made quite a mark on the Canadian musical landscape with a Polaris Prize shortlist nomination for the unforgettable 2020 album Bleached Wavves and side-project OMBIIGIZI with Adam Sturgeon of Status/Non-Status.

This week the shoegazer returned with a new single featuring musician and writer Leanne Betasamosake Simpson and an upcoming EP announcement. After just one listen to the first offering Astum, we’re hooked. The song will be included on Big Pharma which also features Cadence Weapon and Michael Peter Olsen, among others.
