Sun Junkies are a 4-piece garage-rock outfit that hail from Telephone City, Brantford, Ontario. We recently came across their infectious surf-infused sound, and we can’t get enough. Today, we join forces with the band to present the first single from their upcoming EP, Unconventional Methods Of Transportation.
Sat What You Say is a straightforward love song about those times that you never want to end. It fantasizes about bliss in a time where happiness is hard to come by, and is packed with horns, strings, and a synth-laden outro that’ll leave you searching for more.
Formed in 2016 by singer/guitarist Noah Carmichael while in high school – the band settled into a definitive lineup in 2018, consisting of bassist Issa Mohammad, drummer Nick Stacy, and guitarist Ethan Silver. The band self-released their debut album, Technicolor Daydream in 2019. With an almost masochistic dedication to the tried-and-true ethics of DIY, Sun Junkies record, produce, and mix their records themselves, relying on McDonald’s salaries and friends who can afford to lend a microphone or two. In this spirit, insofar the band has booked every gig themselves or with the help of friends and supporters, and has toured the east coast of Canada in the summer of 2019.
On July 16th, the band will release their new extended play, and it’s time for you to take a listen to the lead single, Say What You Say, in the embed below. Trust us when we say … it’s a musical journey you won’t soon forget.
And, while you’re at it, be sure to hit up their socials to show some love. These guys deserve your attention.
