Earlier this year, Vancouver singer-songwriter Dan Mangan released In Your Corner (for Scott Hutchison) on the masses. The single was his first original material since 2018, and let’s just say, we couldn’t get enough of it here at The iM.

Yesterday the two-time Juno award winner returned with a new single called Fire Escape and an upcoming album announcement. We couldn’t wait to share the news with you. The accompanying video was directed by filmmaker Lester Lyons-Hookham and co-stars actors Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul) and Allison Wright (The Americans, Snowpiercer).

“Fire Escape is about our unshakable longing to be seen, heard, and understood,” says Mangan. “When everyone was isolated at home I became enamored with the idea of fire escapes becoming a gathering place, a way to connect with your neighbors. I love the idea that even in the very worst of circumstances or with limited resources, humans will find a way to feel unity.”
