If you’re not familiar with singer-songwriter Keegan Trumpour, you should be. The Toronto-based musician, who goes by Opeongo, recently dropped a new single featuring Carleigh Aikins on vocals. We couldn’t wait to share it with you.
“Dreadful Sorry Clemency” is an exploration of the loss of mercy, lenience, and forgiveness. I began writing it at the onset of winter in Toronto. The harshness of this city and the Canadian winter can serve, at times, as fine metaphors for the compromise and understanding that comes with adulthood. This song drew from the feeling of isolation that can be perpetuated in the city, as well as through a lack of empathy.”
