🎧 PREMIERE: John Lowell Anderson – “Four am”

Singer-songwriter and musician John Lowell Anderson hails from Los Angeles, California. Working with producer Tyler Chester (Andrew Bird, Dawes), he’s created an exceptional and captivating piece of work with his latest single, Four am.

The song immediately struck a chord with us after just one listen. That being said, we couldn’t be more excited to be premiering it at The iM today. More on the track below:

“True to its title, “Four am” was conceived in the wee hours of the morning. The song is both melancholy and hopeful and hints at the distorted reality that ties in with lack of sleep. JLA often finds creativity in the sleepless nights. “This song was sort of following my stream of consciousness in those moments and the lyrics really poured out from that.”

💿 Julianna Riolino – “J.R.”

The new(ish) EP from singer-songwriter and musician Julianna Riolino came up on our radar today, and we’re certainly glad it did. The 6-song effort was recorded a few years back, but only a few tracks were released … until now. If you’re looking for a collection of beautifully crafted pop-songs, look no further.

Listen to J.R. in the embed, and be sure to hit up her links below to show some support. Not sure about you, but we can’t wait for more.

🎧 The Hold Steady – “Heavy Covenant”

It’s no secret we’ve been long-time fans of Brooklyn indie-rockers The Hold Steady. So, we were stoked to come across a new track today. The band dropped the first single Family Farm last month and also announced the new album would be out on February 19th on their own label, Positive Jams. If this latest song is any indication, we’re in for something special.

Check out Heavy Covenant in the embed below, and hit up their socials for more leading up to the new long-player, Open Door Policy. Just for the record, we can’t wait.

🎧 POSTDATA – “Nobody Knows”

We first told you about Halifax-based singer-songwriter Paul Murphy (aka POSTDATA) back in mid-November when he dropped his stellar song, Twin Flames. Well, the Wintersleep frontman is back with another single, Nobody Knows, and we can’t get enough of this thing here at The iM.

Check it out in the embed, and hit up his socials below for more leading up to the release. The new long-player drops March 5th via Paper Bag Records. Not sure about you, but we can’t wait.
