📹 Mav Karlo – ‘Detonator’

We first told you about Toronto indie-rocker Mav Karlo back in early August when we came across his trippy little video for Elevator. Well, the singer/songwriter is back with another song (and video), and in our humble opinion, this is his best work yet. Now, it’s time for you to hear what we’re talking about.

“‘Detonator’ is about that moment when you stop saying to yourself “I’m such a fuck up” and start asking “why am I such a fuck up?” It’s a long and a hard process, but an important one, and that’s reflected in the wordier than usual verses. I wanted the detail in the lyrics to act like dots in a pointillist painting, disparate images that when taken together convey a singular emotion.”

💿 Division Street – ‘Waves’

Toronto electronic-synth-wave outfit Division Street recently came up on our radar, and we’re certainly glad they did. We’ve had the new record Waves on some serious rotation here at The iM, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

Now that we have your attention, check it out in the embed below, and be sure to hit up our favourite album tracks Waves and Sandy. Trust us when we say, you’ll be glad you did.
